As Christmas surrounds us, I'm grateful for your love. Reflecting on Simeon and Anna, who awaited the Messiah in the temple (Luke 2:25-38), I'm reminded of their joy at seeing baby Jesus.
Simeon, promised by the Holy Spirit to see the Lord's Christ before death, praised God when he held Jesus, declaring, "For my eyes have seen your salvation" (Luke 2:29-30, ESV). Anna, an elderly prophetess, also recognized Jesus as the awaited Messiah.
Just as Simeon and Anna found fulfillment in the Messiah, I find immense joy in you, my dearest wife. Your presence completes my life.
This Christmas, I thank God for you. May our hearts echo the awe of Simeon and Anna, and may our love be a beacon of hope.
