My dear sister in Christ,
As we step into this beautiful and holy season of Advent, my heart is filled with joy thinking of you and the new journey the Lord has you on. I wanted to take a moment to send you a special message, not just as a friend, but as the person in christ and mentor in the faith.
First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for saying "yes" to serving the body of Christ in this very practical and vital way. The work of an admin in a church office is a unique ministry. You are the unseen engine that helps everything else run smoothly—the welcoming voice on the phone, the organizer of chaos, the keeper of details. In the busyness of this season, you are already experiencing how your faithful work in the background allows the music to play, the sermons to be prepared, and the congregation to be cared for. Never underestimate the eternal significance of serving God’s people with excellence, right where you are.
As we celebrate Christmas, I'm reminded that the very first Christmas was full of what the world might see as "admin work." A census decree, a long journey, a search for lodging, and logistical challenges. Yet, it was right in the middle of that holy hustle and bustle that our Savior was born. The King of Kings entered the world in the humblest of circumstances, attended to by a faithful couple who simply did what needed to be done.
So, as you manage calendars, answer emails, and prepare bulletins, remember this: you are creating space. Just as Mary and Joseph found a space for Jesus to be born, you are helping to create spaces—both physical and spiritual—where people can encounter Him today. Your diligence, your patience, and your cheerful heart are a practical offering of worship.
This Christmas, my prayer for you is that amid the beautiful chaos of church activities, you will find quiet moments to kneel at the manger yourself. Don't let the work of the season distract you from the Wonder of the season—the gift of Jesus, Immanuel, God with us. May His peace, which truly does surpass all understanding, guard your heart and mind. May you feel His overwhelming love and know that your service, in all its forms, is precious to Him.
I am so thankful to be on this journey with you and am here for you as a friend. If the load ever feels heavy, please know you are not alone. We are a family, and we carry each other.
Wishing you and your loved ones a Christmas filled with the profound joy, deep peace, and radiant hope of Christ Jesus.
With great warmth and love in Him
