The Home Office would like to wish all of our Colleagues a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Day. The date in which the Christian community has largely agreed to celebrate the birth of Jesus of Christ.

The tale of Christmas not only teaches us of the birth of Jesus Christ, but also tells of his immaculate conception, how Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem, upon their arrival their was no space and they were only able to get a manger to spend the night in where Mary gave birth to Jesus, we also have the 3 shepards whom an Angel informed and the 3 wise men who through a dream came to know about the birth of Jesus and both groups, travelled to bethelem to witness the birth. The 3 wise men also each brought a gift for Jesus: frakencense, murgh and gold. This is where the gift giving aspect of Christmas can be traced back to. Alternativitly we also have king Herod who was aware of the prophecy of the birth of Jesus and actively tried to prevent it by killing newborns. All of this and more is what makes the story of Christmas and the event in which many people celebrate.
