Wedding Speech:

Good Afternoon, everyone.

Today is one of those unforgettable moments—the kind that fills your heart with pride, love, and maybe even a few happy tears. As I stand here and look at my daughter, I feel so grateful for the woman she’s become.

She has faced more than her share of challenges, but she’s never let anything keep her down. She’s always risen stronger, with determination, grace, and that spark in her that never fades. Her father and I are truly proud of her—not just for what she’s accomplished, but for who she is at her core.

She’s also got a heart of gold. The way she loves her little sister and stands as her biggest cheerleader—it’s the kind of love that moves you. Their bond is something I know will last a lifetime.

And while she’s grown into this amazing, independent woman, she’s also given us a lot of laughter along the way. I’ll never forget when she was in Grade 12 and I mentioned the idea of a life coach. She looked at me, confused, and asked, “Why would I need a lifeguard?” I told her right then and there that we were clearly wasting our money on school fees! We’ve laughed about it ever since—and I cherish those moments just as much as the big milestones.

And now, she’s found Marcus—her partner, her equal, and someone who treats her with the love and respect she has always deserved. Marcus, thank you for loving her, for seeing her strength, and for stepping into her life with such kindness.

To my daughter—thank you for being you. You have always been the light in our lives, and now you shine even brighter with Marcus by your side.
